The Wall Street Journal Goes iPhone

The Wall Street Journal has joined the iPhone App crew by releasing their very own title in the App Store. The app joins the BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) application that was released last Aug.

The Wall Street Journal for iPhone delivers exactly what you would expect… Pop it open to survey ‘what’s newsworthiness’, with buttons to easily navigate between articles, video recording and WSJ radio. Category buttons at the freighter allow you to easily navigate to market newsworthiness, editors’ picks, saved articles and more. This is all wellspring and good, and certainly worth the download, but it does come across as funny to me… especially when you consider the Wall Street Journal online content membership volition run you over $100 per class. Perhaps the WSJ has designs on launching a ‘bounty’ paid app down the route that offers more newsworthiness and features, and drops the real number-estate nabbing adspace. Once you pop music surface the app on your iPhone you’ll no doubt observation the banner advertising just above the class buttons at the bottom.

The app has been available for almost a day now, and reviews have been goodness. So, to check it out for yourself smash up The Wall Street Journal (iTunes Link) in the App Store. The app is free people to download.
