The Google Nexus One is better in sunshine than the Motorola Droid?

And by that claim I father’t mean which tans better of course of action – rather, which device has a bettor blind when you’re in the sunlight! Is the Google (NSDQ: GOOG) Nexus One AMOLED, or the Motorola (New York Stock Exchange: MOT test) Droid (Milestone) TFT liquid crystal display? I think you whitethorn be able to guess the answer, but let’s read on ….

The Google Nexus is rocking a 3.7″ AMOLED badness-boy of a screen, whilst as we said, the Motorola Droid is backpacking the TFT – interestingly, they ar both the same size of it. Check out this video recording of the comparing, brought to our care by my buddy Ron over at oled-information.com:

Short summary, for those with attention deficit disorder:

The AMOLED is brighter than the Droid, and behaves better at Sunlight In formula conditions, the Nexus one has much more vivid colours. When viewing photos or videos, the AMOLED has much bettor colours. The commentator complains that he ’sees individual pixels’ on the AMOLED – and this does not happen on the liquid crystal display (I’m not sure what he agency). He says that sometimes the LCD’s effigy is more ‘crisp’ Overall the AMOLED is much better than the liquid crystal display

Not unlike what we’d be expecting, but, I will say that the execution of screens, irrespective of engineering, does seem to vary wildly between devices. This of course of action tin be down feather to a intermixture of hardware and software. Whilst I’ve always liked the iPhone screen for exercise, I remember organism a bit stunned when I turned on the HTC Heron some meter backrest, and power saw just how sharp and alive the images on-blind looked!

That sparks an interesting doubt – which device (that you’ve either owned, or played with) do YOU think has the best quality?
