I’m happy to tell you that IK Multimedia has announced its GrooveMaker range of remixing apps for the iPad. Usually I’m not so overboard with congratulations for things, but these Apps are ‘da bomb calorimeter’ for those of you into ‘casual productiveness’ – that is, playing with Apps, but having something to show for your efforts at the remainder of it!
Groovemaker for the iPhone has been insanely popular (and with goodness reason I think) – they cleverly seeded the marketplace with a free app, and since then have racked up 600K downloads across their free and paid apps. There are now 11 apps in the family, and each unity is awesome!
GrooveMaker for the new iPad offers the same smart features and streamlined work flow as the iPhone/iPod variant for devising music with loops, but also takes advantage of the new larger multi-touch surface to provide enhanced operation with an integrated, advanced controller.
Also, [there is] even more controller when working with loops, providing a new floor of creative flexibility. Users tin now switch “snapped” grooves with a unity touching, plus control the number of loops that ar automatically combined during a random mixing. GrooveMaker iPad is the perfective summation to a DJ set, providing unlimited creative tractability in live remixing and DJ applications.
