Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) is helping operators of 4G mobile broadband networks create a new conversation experience for their subscribers by introducing a technology innovation that makes it easy to switch between voice and video-career, instant messaging and group calling and across a variety of devices – smartphone, tablet or PC – at the touch of a button.

Alcatel-Lucent’s new 4G Consumer Communications Solution makes it easier to reach friends or family by eliminating the need to find out what gimmick, service provider or application they might be available on at the time of getting in tangency. Subscribers are provided with access to a unified contact tilt that establishes a single distributor point with which to connect to people, regardless of where they are or what gimmick they’re using. The use of flash-capable web browser technology enables consumers to connect via video recording using virtually any PC or mobile internet device, so they don’t need to figure out whether the person they are calling is using a compatible video service or device as they do today.

Sandip Mukerjee, President, Advanced Communications Solutions at Alcatel-Lucent said: “By greatly simplifying access to the range of available communication formats and devices, Alcatel-Lucent’s 4G Consumer Communications solution creates a ‘new conversation experience’ that makes every contact as easy and reliable as a voice call. This improved experience will be welcomed by anyone who has ever suffered the frustration of juggling the multiple ways they connect with the people in their lives. Now subscribers just place the call in whatever format they choose and enjoy the service.”

The easy-to-use 4G Consumer Communications Solution also improves the experience of multitasking while connected to a 4G network, providing unique features to assure the performance of particular services. Both voice and video are delivered in high definition (HD) giving them a level of quality and immediateness far superior than what is typically available today.

Diane Myers, Directing Analyst for Infonetics Research, said: “Alcatel-Lucent’s 4G Consumer Communications solution gives service providers the ability to harmonize conversations across telecom and the web, while moving conversations beyond just voice. These new services, combined with high levels of quality of experience will enable operators to have clear differentiation from standalone application providers in the marketplace.”

At the heart of the 4G Consumer Communications solution is Alcatel-Lucent’s IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS). IMS is the open standards architecture that enables any kind of multimedia or telephony access between any kind of device, either fixed or broadband, serving as a hub for multimedia communication theory in 4G networks.

The solution also supports Alcatel-Lucent’s imagination of ‘Application Enablement’, helping mobile operators work more effectively with application developers and content providers to create new services. By providing developers with access to simple-to-use Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), developers can maximize the power of IMS and combine those capabilities with web-based services. As a result, operators can take advantage of the vibrant and growing community of app developers to build appealing services for their subscribers.

Alcatel-Lucent is involved in trials and deployments of this solution with numerous leading service providers worldwide.

MobiTV, Inc. is broadening support to its managed engineering chopine carriers and operator customers with a robust and secure Digital Rights Management (DRM) solvent that enables users to store subject on their mobile gimmick and watch it offline wherever they wish.

MobiTV, Inc.’s DRM solvent will allow for a number of stage business models including subscriptions, rental, subject metering, and sharing of subject across multiple devices and chopine. By having the same DRM solvent on all platforms, MobiTV, Inc.’s technology allows easy certification with minimal engagement by the end drug user.

“It was imperative for us, as multi-blind dispersion becomes core to our business, to create a solution that allows for consumption of subject on multiple screens and platforms, whether someone is on a plane or sitting in movement of their habitation television” said Cedric Fernandes, VP Technology, MobiTV, Inc. “This solution provides the ability to track and provision subject rights for the remainder user as wellspring as the device, creating new stage business models around the multi-distribution channel screen viewing concept.”

One of the major stumbling blocks in the past tense was that in order to support multiple devices and multiple platforms, there needed to be documentation for several different DRM technologies. This made DRM implementation both expensive and complex from operational and licensing perspectives. MobiTV, Inc. worked closely with its subject partners to create single monetary value effective solution that spans multiple devices.

AT&T today announced the successful windup of a live meshing environment field test of 100-Gigabit backbone meshing technology. The test advances exploitation of the next multiplication of backbone meshing technology that will documentation growing volumes of radio and wired Internet and information dealings in the days to come.

During the test, AT&T field tested the new Cisco CRS-3 Carrier Routing System, conducting a standards-ready, I-flow, 100-Gigabit engineering test in a live meshing environment. For this test, AT&T used Opnext century Gigabit CFP client side modules and genus Ixia’s “K2″ 100 Gigabit dealings source and analyser.

AT&T’s trial also demonstrated a I-carrier 100-Gigabit transmission with real number-meter coherent processing on a 900-kilometre deployed ultra long-draw transport link between Pelican State and Florida using Opnext optical equipment.

The successful field test is the latest exercise of AT&T introduction in advanced IP networking technology. AT&T in 2008 completed the world’s largest deployment of current manufacture-criterion 40-Gigabit meshing engineering in its U.S. IP moxie network. And in 2008 and 2009, the company led teams that completed two laboratory trials of 100 Gigabit engineering that set new records for bandwidth transmittal. The century-Gigabit technology is expected to be ready for commercial deployment over the next few years.

“This successful field test is a key milepost in our ongoing effort to deliver the industry’s most advanced and capable IP moxie meshing,” said Gospel According to John Donovan, AT&T’s Chief Technology Officer. “The AT&T IP backbone network today carries nearly 19 petabytes of dealings on an average business mean solar day, support our wireless, wired and endeavor customers’ ever-growing demand for wireless and wired broadband applications. Research and development milestones like our 100-Gigabit trials help to ensure that the AT&T meshing is always ready to sports meeting our customers’ needs.”

The recently completed 100 Gigabit field test marks several guiding light industry achievements, including:

* Successful single-attack aircraft carrier 100-Gigabit transmission with real-meter coherent processing.

* Demonstration of 100-Gigabit Ethernet I-flow router capacity.

* Field demonstration of century-Gigabit engineering with a standards-compliant 100GBASE-LR4 I-mode MSA interface.

* Field presentation of a 100-Gigabit dealings source.
