The conflict between the BlackBerry 9550 and the original Storm is immediately apparent – instead of the single push button dab smack in the midriff acting as a pivot distributor point, all four corners are acquiring sensors. This is great newsworthiness, since the old layout provided a very inconsistent experience when clicking along the edges, but more importantly, opens the door for multitouch capabilities, which could make for faster typing. Lately a draw of attention has been aimed at why the blind clicks when the gimmick is on, but stays clay when it’s off; it’s seeming likely that piezoelectronics are the technology arse it all. I’m curious to see what practical use the lineament has in the long tally… Localized opposition sounds cool, but we’ll have to see what developers and RIM do with the final merchandise. I, for ace, will welcome the new spongephone BlackBerry 9550 Storm when it comes out on Verizon (New York Stock Exchange: VZ) this October.
