Looks like Virgo the Virgin Mobile River (which is now owned by Sprint (New York Stock Exchange: S)) is aggressively pursuing the texting gang as it is rumored to be launching some cheap plans that include unlimited texts, e-mails and information.

The lowest package volition reportedly price $25 per calendar month for the unlimited whatsis above and 300 proceedings of talk time. You can also pay $40 for 1,200 proceedings and unlimited messaging and information, or just plop down $60 a month for unlimited everything. If you’re a text-happy person (Virgo the Virgin Mobile’s staff of life and butter) you can probably get away with the lowest-tier plan without a trouble.

Who cares about the plans if the phones suck though, right? Well, Phone Arena said the prepaid carrier volition soon be offering the Kyocera (New York Stock Exchange: KYO) Loft for $70, the LG Rumor Touch for $150 and the BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) Curve 8530 for $300. Remember, those prices mean value you’ll be able to own the earpiece outright but the CDMA nature of the networks mean you won’t be able to payoff that phone to other carriers easily. You definitely can’t manipulation these on AT&T (NYSE: T) or T-Mobile River, and I’d be very surprised if Verizon (NYSE: VZ) would be cool and let you activate these devices on its network.

Best Buy’s database, Sep 25th launch, 0'>Nokia (New York Stock Exchange: NOK)’s N900 is unity of the few handsets to employment on winding Mobile’s AWS bands (1700/2100, same as T-Mobile River (New York Stock Exchange: DT)), and although it was absent from their inauguration lineup, wind has promised it will be coming early this class. wind faces an uphill struggle as the newest actor in the Canadian River telecom manufacture, but neither Rogers (NYSE: RCI) nor Alexander Bell nor telus (NYSE: TU) have been able to hang-up the N900, which could (when combined with wind’s nationally-scoop unlimited information plan) win the Black Maria and minds of the technical school-understanding. Having used the N900 for the shoemaker’s last twosome of weeks, I could see it woof a significant (if specific) niche and give a much-needed edge versus the entrenched contention.
