Sygic AURA (a nex-gen Sat Nav app) has got released in to the wilderness – mapping Singapore on Malayisa on its first regional outing.

In cause you are wondering what’s nex-gen about it – wellspring, it’s apparently a “revolutionary combining of full-featured twist-by-turn cable car and walker navigation with social networking, packed with latest maps and dozens of useful tourer information, all this in 3D with attractive turning point models of the most popular places”

I’m not too sure it’s revolutionary, but some of the features ar certainly welcome, if they ar executed well in the application. Case in distributor point: 3D Maps – I’m certainly at the point now where a cleverly-realised 3D Map would add something to the surround for me, but the problem to-appointment has been mixing the requirement for that much extra detail, with the massive warehousing impingement.

Another feature is the duplicate metadata that supposedly comes with the app, allowing you to check out (for representative) local points of pastime with lots of detail to it.

One lineament I’m not convinced by is the sociable side of the App – but then again, I think some apps rich person a center requirement for social connectivity, and others don’t – and I’d have to be convinced that organism able to find my budding, when I’m exploitation Saturday Nav, is actually important – I’d of intellection acquiring where I was leaving would be anteriority figure one!

At any pace, we’ll all be able to give things a go when the regional app for where each of us lives goes live – I’m wait for the UK edition of Sygic AURA

With CTIA 2010 going on right field now, radio companies are going to start releasing more and more information about their devices. And, in distributor point of fact, there’s departure to be a draw more handsets roving around the convention floor. Motorola would rather handle things a act differently: they’d rather sit us down at a board, and show off their latest Android-based French telephone. Hera we have the Motorola i1, the worldly concern’s first base Push-to-Talk Android French telephone. And, if it weren’t for a few random issues we have with the earphone, we’d be pretty smitten.

The Motorola i1 has a 3.1-inch HVGA touchscreen, a 5Mp photographic camera, and it’s obviously got the Push-to-Talk feature going for it. Other than that, it’s the criterion Android gimmick. And, by criterion, we mean it. The i1 is rocking Android 1.5. Not good. There’s obviously no talking about an rise right now, but hopefully that gets sorted out eventually. Then again, considering the PTT and stage business oriented-position of this device, maybe the update isn’t at the top of Motorola’s priorities.

So, without us rambling on, return a looking at the videos, and argument with yourself whether or not the gimmick is up your alleyway.

AT&ere;T (New York Stock Exchange: T)’s first base-ever Android smartphone is, as expected, now available for purchase. The price is $99.99 after a chain armor-in rebate and with a two-class agreement.

As you know, this is just a start for AT&T. The carrier plans to launch 5 Android-powered devices during the first base half of the year — including Dell Mini 3 and some HTC models (Desire?) — most probably during the upcoming CTIA Wireless in Las Vegas.

Back to the Backflip. As you know, it runs MOTO’s own MOBOBLUR UI on round top of Android, allowing users to quickly connect with their buddies across sociable networks like Twitter and Facebook. The headphone also comes equipped with a 5-megapixel camera, HSDPA and wireless local area network connectivity, Global Positioning System with compass, as wellspring as a full QWERTY keyboard that makes typewriting on-the-go easier.

‘nough said. Hop over to this page on AT&ere;T’s website and snap the tinker’s dam thing… Or wait for another month for something even ice chest. It’s your call.

More newsworthiness advent our way from the Olympics. It seems this year is the class for customized, limited edition phones. We regard more multiplication were like this, to be honest. We can never get enough limited edition things. Because, well, they’re limited. Anyway, this time we’ve got Nokia manufacturing only 200 of these rare gems. (It’s means more than that other limited version gimmick we heard about.) In summation to those 200, Nokia gave three of them to the Annie Oakley-sponsored athletes at this class’s Winter Olympics.

This isn’t the first meter the N97 mini has been treated to the limited edition way of life, though. In fact, if we were going off limited version versions, the N97 mini would be a pretty big hit. Of course of action, it still has that whole thing “N97″ nickname, which we’re sure is bringing some people down all over the worldly concern. It doesn’t damage that it’s a better phone than its big brother, but distillery, sometimes those shadows extend pretty far.

Unfortunately, from what we can tell, there’s not much changed on this variant of the mini. Yes, there is a optical maser-etched symbolization on the backrest of the phone, and it does have a great gas alloy finish to it, but we’re thinking that’s not enough. After all, the RAOUL variant was pretty intense. There’s a few goodies in the box, though. Like some Team Oakley stuff. Other than that, not much. But, if you’re a buff of Oakley (or Nokia), and want a earphone that stands out above the rest, then this is a great means to make that happen. Start scouring those online auction sale sites, ladies and gentlemen, these ar saltation to go quick.

Our buddies over at T3.com have managed to wangle some custody-on video recording meter with the Moto <a href='http://your-mobile-phone.net/motorola_devour_brings_motoblur_to_verizon_wireless_3g_data_network.html’ title=’Motorola DEVOUR Brings MOTOBLUR To Verizon Wireless 3G Data Network’>Devour, over at MWC – presumption the gimmick wasn’t announced that long ago, it is perhaps surprising to see it in the anatomy (so to speak) so quickly, and also to rip it from the clutches of a Moto Exec

As the T3 guys commented:

It’s another Android handset with the Motorola (New York Stock Exchange: MOT test) Motoblur sociable networking UI that’s been going great guns for Moto since it launched with the DEXT shoemaker’s last summertime. It has a keyboard with isolated keys as wellspring as a 3.5-in touchscreen, a 5-megapixel camera and an attractive silver body. Judging by our legal brief play, it’ll probably sit below the MIlestone in terms of prestige, but on first base glance it looks like another solidness performance from Motorola.

Anyhoo, record hop on over to T3.com using the link here, if you wish to check out their video!

The blocky stylus looks a lot like the Hint; maybe if it had kept the crazy motocubo epithet this phone had in Federative Republic of Brazil, it could stay a little more differentiated. The only other Motorola phone to really be green is the Renew, but there’s a bunch more of similar handsets suspension out in our eco class if you’re into that sort of matter. Interested? You tin nab the A45 unlocked for $159.99 from Motorola’s online store. Who knows, maybe a carrier volition choice this up at some distributor point and subsidize it.

Well here’s a more unusual one for you …

Indaba Music (which offers ‘offers the leading suite of online tools enabling artists all over the world to create music together online’) has emailed me to let me know about the ‘Phone Wars’ that rich person been going on amongst its employees – specifically those that own the iPhone, versus those that own the Moto Droid!

For days, the iPhone has been the gimmick of choice for nearly one-half of the Indaba Music employees. Meanwhile, unwilling to switch mobile carriers to get an iPhone, the other one-half of the Indaba Music team waited for a comparable phone to be available through their overhaul. On November 6th, Motorola (NYSE: MOT test) Droid arrived and was immediately procured by many others of the Indaba Music team. The staff gathered, comparison and contrasting it to the iPhone. Sides were taken. To settee the ongoing (and seemed like never-ending) interoffice smack talking, they put it to their biotic community of 325,000. To participate members were to create an original ringtone exploitation (or covering) at least 1 audio sample distribution from their elect phone’s audio frequency files. The winning earphone will be the phone whose ringtones get the most votes.

And here ar a few of the results of those wars…

Droid Tones

Ringtone 1 Ringtone 2 Ringtone 3

iPhone Tones

Ringtone 1 Ringtone 2 Ringtone 3

Obviously the point of all this is to promo the troupe itself – but, in some ways, it is a cool way of doing it, and something that will temper the interest of those that like to customise their phones.

Fascinatingly, quite a few Professionals in the medicine manufacture manipulation Indaba, check this lot out: The Roots, Yo-Yo Ma, Mariah Carey, Crystal Method, Gospel According to John Legend, Weezer, Alkaline Trio!

If it is something that interests you, you can find out more here.
