We’re both shocked, and slightly overjoyed at the fact that some companies out there are distillery push ahead with Windows Mobile River 6.5.3 releases. Sure, the more powerful, sleeker, and new mobile Operating System is coming in the guise of Windows Phone 7 Series, but that doesn’t mean you can’t hold stroking the fire of current multiplication (failed) mobile Operating Systems, right field? LG wants to introduce you to the VS750, a Windows Mobile River Classic French telephone that wants your spirit.

The LG VS750 is a worldly concern phone: global roaming for the States volition be handled by EVDO Rev.A, and quadband GSM with UMTS/HSPA for the ease of the worldly concern (mostly). So, it’s running Windows Mobile 6.5.3, which agency it’s only slightly better than 6.5. But, when we get to the physical characteristics is when we beginning to lose our faith in the French telephone. We’re looking at a 3.2-inch resistive touchscreen; 3.2MP photographic camera with VGA transcription; WiFi b/g; with 512MB of flash memory and 256MB of RAM. It’s also got a MicroSD card one-armed bandit, where you can expand the computer memory to 16GB. It’s also got a full, QWERTY keyboard that slides out.

We’re not expression that this is a bad phone; but we are just expecting more. Considering how well capacitive touchscreens employment in general, coupling it with Windows Mobile River 6.5.3 seems like the right field thing to do. And while it’s great that Verizon Wireless will be including a stylus in the package, we hatred exploitation them. So . . . Just give us better touchscreens. Oh, and while you’re looking at that picture, please short letter the 3 buttons. Yes, this agency that the buttons won’t be the understanding this gimmick gets excluded from a Windows Phone 7 Series rise. It’s that screen, along with the slow processor that we’re sure is powreing this thing. So, if you’re hoping to get this and then eventually see an rise to the flashy new OS later this year, this is not the device you wish to choice up. You’ve been warned.

More newsworthiness advent our way from the Olympics. It seems this year is the class for customized, limited edition phones. We regard more multiplication were like this, to be honest. We can never get enough limited edition things. Because, well, they’re limited. Anyway, this time we’ve got Nokia manufacturing only 200 of these rare gems. (It’s means more than that other limited version gimmick we heard about.) In summation to those 200, Nokia gave three of them to the Annie Oakley-sponsored athletes at this class’s Winter Olympics.

This isn’t the first meter the N97 mini has been treated to the limited edition way of life, though. In fact, if we were going off limited version versions, the N97 mini would be a pretty big hit. Of course of action, it still has that whole thing “N97″ nickname, which we’re sure is bringing some people down all over the worldly concern. It doesn’t damage that it’s a better phone than its big brother, but distillery, sometimes those shadows extend pretty far.

Unfortunately, from what we can tell, there’s not much changed on this variant of the mini. Yes, there is a optical maser-etched symbolization on the backrest of the phone, and it does have a great gas alloy finish to it, but we’re thinking that’s not enough. After all, the RAOUL variant was pretty intense. There’s a few goodies in the box, though. Like some Team Oakley stuff. Other than that, not much. But, if you’re a buff of Oakley (or Nokia), and want a earphone that stands out above the rest, then this is a great means to make that happen. Start scouring those online auction sale sites, ladies and gentlemen, these ar saltation to go quick.

Back in the first base one-half of 2008 I reviewed the LG Viewty, a touchscreen gimmick with a 3 inch exhibit and a 5 megapixel photographic camera. Now, over a class later we’ve been sent LG’s latest variant of the gimmick, entitled the GC900 ‘Viewty Smart’. The new handset again features a 3 in touchscreen exhibit, albeit with a higher resolution this time, and a new camera – nudged up to the 8 megapixel bell ringer. Read on to find out if the new Viewty really is as smart as its epithet suggests.

Physical Aspects

The LG GC900 Viewty Smart is a fairly norm-sized French telephone in a pill form-gene. The actual dimensions ar 109mm x 56mm x 12.4mm (4.3in x 2.2in x .5in) and the phone weighs 102g (3.6oz), which is quite typical for a touchscreen earphone these days. The outside is mainly finished in a metallic silver paint with a brushed alloy impression on the rear. The movement of the device features a bright WVGA (480 x 800 pixel) solving exhibit, which measures 3 inches diagonally and tin show up to 16 1000000 colours. The exhibit is a capacitive touchscreen(INFO) whole with goodness reactivity, but poor discernability in bright environments due to glare from the glossy finish.

Above the exhibit is the gimmick’s earpiece, as well as a videocall photographic camera, ambient light source sensor, and proximity detector. All are well hidden in the black area surrounding the blind, which gives the gimmick a very clean look. Below the exhibit you’ll find a large chrome button that is used for returning to the dwelling house blind. A similar look chrome striptease tin also be found above the exhibit, but is not a push button.

The back of the gimmick houses the Schneider-Kreuznach photographic camera lens for the Viewty Smart’s 8 megapixel autofocus camera, and its accompanying flash bulb. You’ll also discovery the Dolby Mobile and DivX logos, as wellspring as the usual LG branding. The left position of the gimmick houses the covered microSD one-armed bandit, the S-class square block fare/multitasking menu button, and a lanyard mending on the circus tent corner. The volume cradle, camera shutter button, and covered proprietorship power/data/earphone port are located on the right field position. The power button sits on circus tent of the Viewty Smart and tin also be used for sleeping and waking the blind. The freighter of the French telephone is home only to the microphone pinhole. Overall, the build quality was pretty solidness, with no creaks or squeaks in normal manipulation.
