Sprint (NYSE: S) today announced an important milestone in the national roll-out of Network Vision: a complete deployment of the first multi-mode base station in Branchburg, N.J. The deployment features a series of firsts, including

* radiating multiple spectrum bands (1.9GHz and 800MHz) from a single base station,

* powering both 1x and EVDO.

The new base station is fully integrated with the existing network and initial tests appearance performance improvements are in line with expectations.

Announced in Dec. 2010, Network Vision is a design to consolidate multiple network technologies into single seamless network, resulting in significant performance improvements for our customers. Through spectrum efficiencies associated with Network Vision, Sprint intends to repurpose some of its 800MHz spectrum for Sprint 3G service, thereby enhancing coverage, particularly the in-construction experience for customers. Augmenting its 1.9GHz footprint with 800MHz, Sprint expects its CDMA reporting density will increase throughout the country. More denseness generally equates to fewer dropped calls and a more seamless network experience for customers.

“Customers in Branchburg who are served off of this first cell web site may already begin to notice improvements,” said Bob Azzi, SVP Network for Sprint. “Months of planning and execution with our partners are resulting in performance improvements that more than meet our expectations. We’re excited to begin sharing these improvements with our customers.”

Customer Benefits

Sprint customers volition soon see better signal strength for improved wireless access in more places. The Network Vision program is expected to result in faster, more consistent data speeds, allowing greater access to download the latest free strain of the twenty-four hours from the Google Music Store on an HTC EVO™ 3D. Customers can expect to experience fewer dropped calls so they can freely manage their holiday plans and shopping virtually anywhere they are. Network Vision ultimately means authority for wireless users that Sprint is handling increased data demands while ensuring an exceptional wireless customer experience.

<a href='http://your-mobile-phone.net/verizon_to_integrate_american_express_serve_on_wireless_phones_and_tablets.html' title='Verizon to Integrate American Express' Serve on Wireless Phones and Tablets'>Financial Benefit

Network Vision also provides significant economic benefit to Sprint. Network Vision is expected to cost an incremental $4 billion to $5 billion and deliver $10 billion to $11 billion in net economic economic value to the company between 2011 and 2017, with a projected NPV of approximately $6 billion. The primary components of economic value come from reduced roaming, cell-site reduction, the elimination of dual networks, backhaul efficiencies, reduced churn, more efficient use of capital and energy cost savings.

Sprint previously announced that Network Vision is a three year program with market deployments beginning in 2012 and ending in early 2014.

AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) today filed with the Federal Communications Commission its financial statement support its proposed accomplishment of T-Mobile USA and responding to critics. The filing demonstrates the overarching imperative mood that drives this transaction: gift AT&T and T-Mobile USA customers the network capacity they motivation to enjoy the full hope of the mobile broadband rotation. With the scale, spectrum and other resources generated by this dealing, the combined troupe will deploy Long Term Evolution – the premier next-multiplication radio broadband engineering – to more than 97 percentage of the U.S. population. The synergies of this transaction volition create immense new mental ability that volition provide enormous benefits to consumers. That new mental ability volition provide a more robust chopine for the next multiplication of bandwidth-intensive mobile applications while improving consumers’ overall overhaul quality through faster data speeds and fewer dropped and blocked calls. In the process it volition create jobs and investiture, help span the digital watershed, and help achieve the Administration’s rural broadband objectives, all without the consumption of government finances.

For these reasons, the dealing has unparalleled documentation from across the political and commercial landscape painting. This significant documentation includes the governors of 17 states; labour unions representing 20 million workers; minority and disability rights advocates; rural and environmental groups; speculation capitalists; and a broad swath of the high gear-tech community’s apps developers, gimmick manufacturers, and equipment vendors. Companies such as Avaya, Brocade, Facebook, Microsoft, Oracle, Qualcomm, RIM, Yahoo! and many others, support this merger because the widely available LTE chopine it makes possible volition aid fuel the entrepreneurship, innovation and investment that is critical to U.S. leadership in high gear-technical school industries. In addition, they recognize that the dealing will manipulation spectrum more efficiently, improve overhaul quality, and deploy an expanded LTE meshwork, all of which will in twist drive a virtuous bicycle of engineering deployment, job institution, and economic emergence.

Commenting on the contents of the filing, Wayne Watts, AT&T Senior Executive Vice President and General Counsel, said: “This merger is about adding capacity and improving existing voice and information services piece simultaneously enhancing the capabilities of the combined companies to cast out next generation wireless broadband services to 97% of Americans. Ultimately, the capacity and efficiency gains this amalgamation volition create are a public interest welfare, and will create the power to provide enhanced services at lower cost. These benefits underscore why this dealing should be promptly approved. Our opponents aren’t really concerned about contention or prices. The posturing of rivals such as Sprint is about one matter: their desire to compete against a mental ability-constrained AT&T and a T-Mobile USA that has no clear path to LTE.”

Highlights of the filing concerning the merger’s benefits include:

The dealing will generate jobs and economic growth

As a result of the merger, AT&T will shuffle an additional investment of more than $8 billion to expand LTE deployment and to integrate the AT&T and T-Mobile USA networks. That investiture will directly green goods employment within the combined troupe and externally for engineers, equipment manufacturers, construction firms, and a host of others. Expanding the advanced LTE chopine to an additional 55 million more citizenry will also rich person job-creating ripple personal effects throughout the economy, particularly in rural areas. As Lawrence Summers, then head of the President’s National Economic Council, concluded, “[e]ach dollar mark invested in wireless deployment is estimated to resultant role in as much as $7 to $10 higher GDP,” and, as wireless investiture grows, “the benefits for line creation and line betterment are likely to be substantial.”

The dealing volition conserve and promote contention and innovation

Nothing about the combining of AT&T and T-Mobile USA could possibly hold Sprint or any other provider from acting on the same incentives it has today to hold innovating in this unusually dynamic ecosystem. In fact, in the past tense couple weeks we have seen incredible support for AT&T’s amalgamation with T-Mobile come from a large and broadly diverse number of high gear-tech companies that recognize the motivation for robust mental ability to support further emergence and innovation in mobile broadband.

The radio market volition remain vibrantly competitive

As anyone who watches television system or reads the newspaper knows, the radio marketplace is one of the most competitive in the entire U.S. saving, with radio providers aggressively selling a vast array of products and services. This is demonstrated in the basic competitive realities in markets throughout America, including the resurgence of Sprint and the fact that roughly three-living quarters of Americans rich person a selection of five or more facilities-based wireless providers. Furthermore, other major providers posted record gains in the first tail of 2011 which confirms that they tin fill any competitive gap T-Mobile USA might farewell after this dealing is complete.

The network mental ability of the combined troupe volition far exceed the sum generated by its pre-amalgamation parts

Over the past tense four years, AT&T has invested more than $75 billion to rise its wireline and radio networks—more than any other public troupe has invested in the United States, contempt opponents’ claims of underinvestment. Contrary to opponents’ arguments, neither this massive investment, nor piecemeal engineering “solutions” can solve the macro instruction-floor, system-wide constraints braving AT&T, and they cannot, alone or together, provide the capacity easing on anything approach the scale of this transaction, net ball alone in the same meter full point. Benefits from T-Mobile electric cell sites (which are densest in urban centers), cannot be achieved by AT&T on its own, and because AT&T and T-Mobile USA rich person uniquely complementary color networks and spectrum positions, the meshwork capacity of the combined troupe volition far exceed the sum generated by its pre-amalgamation parts.

Numerous competitors volition rich person ample spectrum to maintain the vibrantly competitive U.S. wireless market

The combined spectrum spot of Sprint and Clearwire (in which Sprint currently owns a bulk stake) is far stronger than AT&T’s today. Clearwire has the topper spectrum position in the manufacture, on average, 160-MHz of spectrum in the top markets. This is more than the combined AT&T/T-Mobile company would have if their merger is approved,[1] and does not even include the additional spectrum Sprint holds directly.
