We are introducing node bloggers to our blog, to make sure you get a diverseness of information from different sources. It also gives you an chance to ask questions to a wide diverseness of industry citizenry, and more importantly gives you a chance to tell us who you wish to hear from. If you rich person any ideas of interesting citizenry involved with phones that you would like to see write on our web log, net ball us know. To start us off, I’m pleased to introduce Robert E. Lee Tennessee Williams from troubleshooter aficionados Geek Squad:

I’m Robert E. Lee and have been with the Geek Squad since February 2007. I employment as a double agent mostly visiting homes to kill all your spyware, and shuffle computers do what you want them too. My specialties prevarication in Macs and Mobile Phones so as my first web log post I rich person presumption you a quick tally through some of the stairway you can go through if your earphone misbehaves. Hopefully it will be a help to some of you!

Its amazing how many people have problems with phones and do not know staple stairway to follow on how to locating them, especially when you consider how importantly mobile phones lineament in citizenry’s lives. What I am departure to tell you about now ar the steps I go through to locating a trouble:

1. Turn the phone on and off

It whitethorn auditory sensation obvious but whenever I get person who cannot make a call option, cannot textual matter or even some keys do not employment the first base thing I ask them is, have you tried turn your phone on and off. We refer to it as a power cycle and it tin fix a draw of problems, a client will often ask me wherefore should they rich person to do that. You must bear in nous that most mobiles are on 24/7 there ar not many electrical devices that rich person the same demands put option upon them. By performing a might bicycle you are gift the earphone a breather.

2. If the trouble distillery exists try a master reset

This is like a super power bicycle if you volition, a phone may look pretty staple from the fare you see but there are thousands of processes running in the backdrop that determine how your earphone tally. So if one of those processes is not working correctly it is very difficult to diagnose and also even more difficult to variety. The best matter to do is a factory reset, it is often found in settings and should be relatively easy to discovery. It volition change your ringtone and wallpaper and any other customization your rich person made but volition not delete your pictures or any other information, (be careful with Sony Ericsson handsets though there is an option which does do this, just salary specific care to what it says on the blind).

3. Still Broken

If these are both unsuccessful you should checkout your phone for water system damage, there is usually an index on your battery which should be a flannel dot or small square, if it is any other color then I am afraid you ar in difficulty. Water damage does not always manifest itself immediately so that time you mentation you got away with using it in the pelting 3 months ago could easily only now just be affecting your earphone, if this is the causa your earphone policy should covering fire you for a replacement.

Other than that the phone could simply rich person a microbe, the phone manufacturers ar under such pressure to liberation new handsets the quickest, the examination time before release is getting shorter and shorter this is why they entitle you to free people software upgrades throughout your entire first class of possession so you can shuffle sure you have the fastest most feature packed experience possible with your handset. This is done by either sending your phone to the manufacturer (usually 28 years) or the easier choice is to take it to a Carphone Warehouse where on occasion they can fix it on site if they tin, failing that they send it to a telephone exchange fix where the turnaround time is around 14 days.

4. If all else fails….

Try finding people with the same problem. If your problem is on a Nokia n95 and you are having trouble sending texts type “nokia n95 textual matter trouble forum” into the Google and you will be granted approach to a worldly concern where citizenry are having the same problem where most of the meter person else has done the hard work and found a solution already that you can apply. If this is fruitless you can always appealingness for aid by crating your own subject, the Nokia agora is especially helpful with the engineers themselves often mailing solutions.

So these ar the stairway that I follow myself and also when I am charged with the task of mend other phones too. Hopefully if you follow them to it will help you out. Always remember to backrest up your photos and numbers pool either on a electronic computer or duplicate store circuit board. If this all sounds a bit confusing and not worth your meter, you can get us to do it instead. Call 0800 049 4335 and a oddball squad agent volition be on hand to advise you of the best solvent. If you would rather e-mail send your problem to tangency@geeksquad.co.uk and chances are I volition trade with you myself.

Robert E. Lee Williams | Agent 5235 Geek Squad Europe | London

When II NFC devices touch, they immediately shape a connection and can start transferring information. No more fumbling around with business cards at conferences and meetings, no more having to ask someone for their earpiece number, no more having to eccentric a word or phrase into a Google (NSDQ: GOOG) search loge or lining up your camera, then wait, to CAT scan a barcode, but the most kick-nookie use of NFC is as a defrayment method.

People in Japan have been using NFC enabled devices for days now, and they can pay for practically anything using nonentity but their mobile earpiece. Some of the newer apartments even have NFC enabled room access locks, so you tin can literally leave the house with nothing but your mobile earpiece and some form of photo designation and have the burden of memory where your keys and wallet are removed from your cognizance.

Anyway, backrest to this Apple patent, this isn’t just for the iPhone, this is for practically all Apple products. Check out some more images after the jump.

Buzz itShare

This year is the class of the lozenge, but some tablets are going to outshine others. Dell is hoping that their Android-powered Dell Mini 5 volition be I of the brighter stars in the fast-maturation tablet quad, and they’ve got good reason – the Mini 5 volition apparently boast cellular connectivity on AT&T (New York Stock Exchange: T)’s network and volition fully support Android apps from the Android Market. New information from Dell’s general manager of tablets, Neeraj Choubey, confirms prior meditation that the second biggest radio carrier in the US volition be serving data to the Mini 5. That’s big newsworthiness, since Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) is also lined up to connect their iPad tablet to AT&ere;T’s network.

It’s not open if AT&T volition offer the Dell Mini 5 on a subsidized basis, or if Dell volition offer their lozenge with a discount unlimited information plan similar to what Apple volition offer with the iPad. What is clear, is that Dell’s lozenge will feature a social movement-face video recording camera and allow II-agency video calls over the infamous 3G mesh. We’ll have to wait and see if Big Blue tin can handgrip iPhone information traffic, iPad dealings, as well as traffic from the Mini 5 without pickings an elephant-sized crap on itself.

Android OS will be run the appearance, but Dell has customized the Mini 5 with a custom Android user port, and volition likely documentation Adobe’s Flash technology. It’ll also hit marketplace with a 5-megapixel camera, giving the underdog lozenge a duo legs up on the camera-lacking and Flash-less Apple iPad. We’re not even going to talk about how the iPad North Korean won’t be able to multi-chore – something Android does with ease. Let’s just hope it doesn’t cost a push-down store of greenbacks.

With CTIA just around the turning point, it’s possible that we’ll get more solid launch entropy in the advent weeks. Stay tuned!

The Google (NSDQ: GOOG) Nexus One is already available on T-Mobile River U. S. Army and volition soon strike Verizon (NYSE: VZ)’s meshing as the gotta-have Android phone of the year, but AT&ere;T (NYSE: T) has been conspicuously missing. That is, until today – an AT&ere;T 3G-compatible version of the Nexus One has just popped up on the Federal Communications Commission’s website, hinting at the possible action that Google will soon release a new Nexus One variant capable of pulling down 3G information on AT&T’s radio network. If true, the Nexus One volition be available on terzetto out of the four top US radio carriers – Sprint (New York Stock Exchange: S), it seems, is organism left field out of the party for now.

Engadget is reporting today that the Federal Communications Commission has unveiled a new identification label for an as-yet-unannounced Nexus One variant. The label you see on the right (above graphic) lists an ID number that corresponds to the current T-Mob-ified Nexus One. The recording label on the left field sports an ID number that differs by a single dactyl, indicating that it’s a variant of the original. FCC doctor also confirm that the new variant supports 3G on WCDMA Bands I, II, and V, making it compatible with 3G bands used by AT&ere;T in the US. From the looks of it, the Nexus One is headed to AT&T!

Although Google has previously neglected to honorable mention AT&T as a partner for their Nexus One, it makes gumption to surface up Google’s first own-branded Android phone to a wider marketplace. Unless, that is, we’re looking at a label for the “Moogle” phone (Nexus Two).
