When Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) announced to the world that they managed to move 1 meeellion (1 “million,” for you non-Dr. Evil fans) iPad units in less than a calendar month since launching – in just the US marketplace, nonetheless – many pundits came away decently impressed. Were this to happen to any other troupe, everybody and their grandmas would be standing on their chairs and cheering in upheaval. For Apple, though, it’s just another product launch. But, that doesn’t mean the financial ramifications ar to be ignored. As Business Insider points out, Apple could relocation as many as 2 meg iPads in its first base calendar quarter of sales – that would spring the troupe more than $1 one thousand million in iPad revenue in just the launch quarter.
Figure it this means. Take Apple’s 1 meg iPad sales and multiply that by an average merchandising monetary value of $650. That gets you $650 meg in iPad gross – likely even higher at the meter of this committal to writing. If it takes Apple another two months to relocation another one-half meg iPad units, they’ll rich person already broken the $1 one thousand million gross roadblock in a single poop. That’s definitely not fool variety.
Chew on this – Apple as a whole pulled in $1.8 one thousand million in revenue for the June 2000 quarter. This quarter could rival that gross from just the iPad alone.
We’ll keep an oculus on iPad gross sales for you and let you know if Apple manages to hit the $1 billion mark before the oddment of this poop. Do you think it’s possible?
